Social Emotional Support

Betsy Ridzik MSW/PPSC

School Counselor

Hello students and parents, I know that this is a very difficult time and that we are dealing with stress and uncertainty. During the school closure school counseling services will be offered on a limited, short term basis. This site will be used to provide social emotional learning activities and resources that may be useful for you and your family. Please take a minute to look through this link and have your student complete the student check in. Thank you!

Services I will be providing during school closures:
  • Working with students, parents, and school staff to design interventions that enhance student success
  • Providing students with the skills to handle social and emotional concerns
  • Providing support during a personal crisis
  • Coordinating referrals to outside agencies
  • Helping to create a safe and positive learning experience
  • Check-ins with students who may need support. Parental consent is required.
  • Virtual office hours Monday- Friday 10:00 am-12:00 pm

Vanessa Romo

Hello Allison Alligators, I’ve created a website with social-emotional learning activities and resources for students and parents. During distance learning, I am available for consultation by appointment. You can reach me at Vanessa.Romo@twinriversusd.org to schedule a consultation or your child can fill out a check-in form on my website.

Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning

Promoting Social and Emotional Competence: These modules were designed based on input gathered during focus groups with program administrators, T/TA providers, early educators, and family members about the types and content of training that would be most useful in addressing the social-emotional needs of young children. The content of the modules is consistent with evidence-based practices identified through a thorough review of the literature.
