Hello students and parents, I know that this is a very difficult time and that we are dealing with stress and uncertainty. During the school closure school counseling services will be offered on a limited, short term basis. This site will be used to provide social emotional learning activities and resources that may be useful for you and your family. Please take a minute to look through this link and have your student complete the student check in. Thank you!
Services I will be providing during school closures:
  • Working with students, parents, and school staff to design interventions that enhance student success 
  • Providing students with the skills to handle social and emotional concerns
  • Providing support during a personal crisis
  • Coordinating referrals to outside agencies
  • Helping to create a safe and positive learning experience
  • Check-ins with students who may need support. Parental consent is required.

Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning

Promoting Social and Emotional Competence: These modules were designed based on input gathered during focus groups with program administrators, T/TA providers, early educators, and family members about the types and content of training that would be most useful in addressing the social-emotional needs of young children. The content of the modules is consistent with evidence-based practices identified through a thorough review of the literature.


Zoom is a video conferencing platform that teachers may use to contact and instruct students.

Audible: Free Books for Listening

Audible is a normally paid service that allows you to listen to books.  They are offering free listening for students at this time.


This site offers online books to read.  Some teachers have classes set up, but at this time they are offering free access the rest of the year for all students


Vooks brings children's books to life with animated illustrations, read-a-long text and narrated story. Offers one year free for teachers and parents teaching at home.

Storyline Online

This is a site where actors read stories aloud.

This is a site for learning how to type.


AR Book Finder

Want to help your child find a book at their reading level?  Use this wonderful resource to check out the level of the books they want to read.  Not sure what their reading level is?  Ask their teacher!

Renaissance Home Connect

This site lets parents get information about their child's Accelerated Reader (AR) Goal.  At school, students take a STAR reading test on the computer that gives them a reading range.  Their teacher will assign a point goal.  They then read books and take quizzes to earn points. 


This is a wonderful resource for students of all ages. It offers personalized learning.


Spelling City

This website is a wonderful way to help your child practice their spelling and vocabulary homework.  It has many free resources.

This is a link to Think Central.  Both Go Math and Journeys are available through this site.  Go math the program we used before SWUN.
